What to do when a key breaks · Girona
Avoid making a blockage worse while arranging professional advice.
If a key breaks or becomes trapped, stop applying force. Objects or adhesives can damage components and complicate assessment.
Explain whether a fragment remains, whether the door is open and if another safe entrance exists. This distinguishes repair from a lockout.
Keep the key pieces if you can do so without manipulating the lock. Ask about the underlying cause, such as wear, resistance or door misalignment.
How we coordinate assistance
- Call with the issue, access type and service location.
- Confirm availability, the authorised contact and visit terms.
- Review diagnosis and the estimate before approving work or materials.
- Check the lock operates and keep the work documentation.
